BREEDERS COMPETITION You must firstly obtain a KC Breeders Competition book, which can be obtained from the Secretary of the show or the Kennel Club. Any breeder can register a team on the day of the show, no entry fee is required. You register with the show secretary before the judging of your breed commences. Four dogs numbers and names are entered into the book and the show secretary will sign it. All four dogs must be entered in the Breed Classes. You must inform the ring steward that you have a team registered for the KC Breeders Competition and only the dogs registered in the book can go into the ring. You are able to substitute dogs, but the book mut be amended and signed accordingly. The same team does not have to go forward at every show, and dogs can be changed, but every time you enter, the details must be recorded in the book. A breeder can also enter more than one team. Following Best of Breed judging, the team will be called into the ring for judging by the breed judge. If they are table dogs, they will not be asked to go back on the table as the judge has already seen them in the breed judging, unless a judge other than the breed judge is judging the Breeders Competition. You will be asked to move all the dogs around the ring, the judge will award the best breeder, and signs the breeders book. |
