1.Superb, quality English original oil painting of a young (male) collie head, on board, ( one of a pair similar) framed in original Gilt gesso ornate frame ,signed, by listed artist of the Northumbrian school -G. Brownlow- ( from the famous family ,- George Washington Brownlow Senior - (1835-1876) signed himself- G.W. Brownlow, /W. Brownlow & G. Brownlow, his artist son ,also George Brownlow, but slightly later date also signed G. Brownlow,

Famous for paintings of typical Victoriarna, GB Senior was known to have completed several collie heads but of those more typical of the earlier period, this one is of a head more typical of the slightly later period,(believed 1915-1925?-but undated-) so is ‘estimated’ to be by the son. Its related other painting also appears either to be of the same dog at an older age, or perhaps this dogs sire or kennel mate. Size picture is 10 x14 inch, frame is 17 x21 ins. 4. Rare tricolour collie figure on rocky stone base.. Modelled in early 1980s by Holland Studio craft—original label attached- which was only in operation for approx 8-10 years, (factory taken over by Royal Doulton and closed down in the late 1980s) Hand painted, in good condition, stamped HSC and signed by the artist –Munro. The dog used for this model was Cheryldene Bumble Bee- as a junior- the juvenile daughter of Ch. Cheryldene Blue Lilac /Ch Carramar Blue Tweed, - she was litter sister to Ch Cheryldene Moonskater of Dunsinane –bred in the early 1970s.. I have a sable painted version of this figure also for sale, but I shall retain the prototype white unpainted model ( I would love one of the more common blue merle painted versions as I broke mine!)! ) these figures were hand made and finished ,and most of the giftware produced by this company was shipped to the USA. This company was based in Longton Staffordshire- made few dogs, but mostly was known for its ‘Enchantica’ collection of wizards and dragons- the dogs ceased production long before the Doulton buyout.
