RIVERSIDE SONG COLLIES

The history of Riverside Song Collies

The way it began…..hmmmmm…..the idea and love for this marvelous breed started long long time ago, when I fell in love, not with a Lassie (as most people did), but with a Bessie hihi. Bessie was my best friend’s Collie girl, the most clever dog I ever met until then. She was the one that made me dream only and only of a Collie. All other breeds paled in front of a Collie. And I knew back then that this was a love that would last a lifetime. And so it was!

I only managed to have my first Collie when I was 16 years old, as my parents weren’t doggie-persons. But as I am a real strong-head, I managed somehow to convince them that they should get me a dog. Oh, the day my boy, Eros, came into my life was, I think, the best one ever! I learned everything that could be learnt together with my darling boy! And even if he wasn’t himself a show-man, the show bug caught me instantly, from the very first show we attended! I could never live without shows anymore. My dear dear boy left me alone suddenly and unexpected when he died, without any previous sign, of a heart attack at only 8 years of age. I was a wreck and I couldn’t get over his death. 6 years had to pass until I was finally able again to have another Collie.
And this was my dear Minnie – Angie’s Angels Amazing Amazon
(Brilyn Hot Tip x Sunresc Lace Aquarius)

We managed quite some nice shows results together, in the very short time she was shown. She attended her first one at 9 months only and won the junior class and then the BOB, making me very proud of her. Soon after, we attended the junior class at the European Show Dog, where she was completely naked, but still managed a 4th in class. Now, she is Romanian Junior Champion with 3 x RPJ (junior winner certificates), has also won 2 x CAC, 2 x RCACIB, 2 RCAC’s in Austria and others.

Minnie was also a very successful brood bitch, as the daughter that I kept from my very first litter proved to be a very successful youngster. She was shown at 9 months under Mrs. Jean Catliff in Hungary and she won HPJ (Hungaria Junior Winner) and qualified herself for Crufts. What a day that was! Soon after, she also won 3 times Romanian Junior Winner (and became Romanian Junior Champion), 3 x BOB, 1 BOG and 1 RBOG, all these until she turned 13 months of age! Oh, that was really an achievement and a huge pride to me! This beautiful bitch is my dear Riverside Song American Trilogy – Zita, my first home-bred beauty, now also waiting for her first litter.

The second addition to my kennel was Nyitramenti Viscountess – Nuca (Nyitramenti Perpetual Mobile x Snow Stail Goddess) a superbly constructed bitch, with a super substance. Although shown only 3 times she made me very proud, by winning the European Baby Winner and then 2 x CAC and 2 x CACIB.

Nuca made me a super gift, a superb litter of 9 puppies, all looking wonderful, litter from which I kept my adorable, favorite boy, Riverside Song Big Boss Man – he will start his show career in April 2010 and I cannot wait the moment! He’s so so special to me, my young boy, I think he’s got everything a male should have – superb construction, wonderful head with super-tiny ears, always in alert, also a marvelous expression to die for! And on top of that, a super coat, excellent movement and fearless character. I can say he’s my dream come true!

Many should be mentioned here, dogs gone to new homes, but keeping a special place in our hearts!

The future looks also bright to me with my 2 very young hopes!
First, my young girl, now 6 months old, Riverside Song Dainty Little Moonbeams – Donna (also homebred). She’s by Shasam Sex Bomb x Crunchy Toast des Beldones and I put all my dreams and hopes in her, as she always was and still is, simply gorgeous!

The last addition to our kennel is the superb young male imported from UK, Mertrisa All You Need Is Love - Jazz, a boy by Lynmead Love Me Do With Mertrisa x Jopium Simply Silk With Mertrisa.
This boy has really conquered my heart with his outlooks and I also cannot wait to start showing him!
Below 2 pictures of him at 3 months of age:

2010 looks bright for us, we are just preparing to welcome 2 brand new litters, waiting also for the shows to start. We’ll be updating with news as often as we can.
Also, for sale, we have a young very promising male for sale, RIVERSIDE SONG CHIMES OF FREEDOM Chris.
We are looking for a lovely show and breeding home for him, as he promises a lot!
