It was love at first sight when I first met a Collie! I was totally smitten with the grace and elegance and gentle
nature of this particular collie
I met and it started a lifelong interest in the breed. It was 1978 and I was 12 and boys could never
compete with Collies!
Since then we (first with my parents and later with my husband) have only bred a few litters, a total of 7 litters in Norway and
6 litters
in England -
we have met some lovely people along the way who have treasured "our" puppies and made us proud. We are also very proud of the
achievements
some of “our” collies have had in the showring.
Besides owning four Norwegian Champions, we also bred a further four Champions in Norway - namely Ch Freelancer Design,
Ch Freelancer Big Spender,
Ch Freelancer Different Class and Ch Freelancer Flowershow.
From our English litters came the breed record holder
Ch Phreelancer Phrosty Moon over Corydon and Finnish Ch Phalling Snow of Phreelancer.
Our first Collie was ‘Kim’, a tricolour dog who we, unknowingly, bought from a puppy farm. He was born on 1st February 1978 and I remember
very well the day we bought him, on the 1st of April, as he was running wild around the ‘shop’ for an hour
before he calmed down
and my mum was insistent that he was not coming home with us! He came home with us! |

A year later, the dam of my grandfather’s Collie was due to have another litter and we went to see the puppies at one week old
and came home having booked the only shaded sable in the litter who later became
Nor Ch Topp-Form’s Petit Fleur. |
Nor Ch TOPP -FORM'S PETIT FLEUR [Shana]
(Nor Ch Geoffdon Hillbilly - Topp-Form's Golden Lee)
‘Shana’ was born 27th April 1979 and was our first bitch and Kim’s companion. She was a ‘once in a lifetime’ dog - a true character who outwitted us many times and truly enriched our lives with her loving nature and fun personality. She was the dam of two Norwegian Champions and several CC winners.
She loved the showring and stole the attention of many and she was the first collie for more than 30 years to win Best In Show at an all breeds championship show in Norway. She was also the Top Winning Collie in Norway in 1988.

Nor Ch LA VIDA'S NOT-A-PENNY [Dime]
(Int & Nor Ch Geoffdon Jonathan - Geoffdon Minute Waltz)
‘Dime’ was born 21st March 1980, she had the sweetest nature and was a joy to live with. Her most naughty moment was when she plucked up the courage to steal a potato crisp off the coffee table! She was also the dam of two Norwegian Champions and one CC winner. Dime was 12 years old when this photo was taken

Nor Ch CORYDON GLOSS OF GLORY [Purdie]
(Ch Corydon Handsome Hotspur - Ch & Aust Ch Corydon Glory Hallelujah)
‘Purdie’, born 5th February 1984, was our first import and came to us causing havoc from day one. She was a real character and kept us on our toes. Unfortunately, she never had a litter but came with me to England in 1991 and enjoyed her retirement in the country where she was born.

Nor Ch CORYDON AUGUSTUS CAESAR [Gus]
(Ch & Aust Ch Little Caesar at Corydon - Corydon Polly Tucka)
‘Gus’ (born 5th January 1980) came into our part ownership at the age of five. He was co-owned with our good friends Bodil and Bob Wilson. Gus was the most perfect gentleman, he had such a beautiful nature and proved to be a very successful stud dog in Norway producing many champions, most noteably among them the top winning Collie of all time in Norway, Int Ch Breezdon Diamonds Are Forever who amongst her wins could count four times BIS at The Norwegian Kennel Club’s International All Breed Shows - truly a remarkable feat for a Collie.

CORYDON SILVER MOON [Dotty]
(Ch Lowerpark Moonlighter at Corydon - Corydon Glory Bee)
‘Dotty’, born 9th July 1990, endeared herself to me as a very young puppy. She would come and sit by me when her litter mates would play - probably also due to her less sporty outlook on life! Dotty was much treasured, always a kind and loving ‘person’. As well as winning many firsts at championship shows, she also won a CC and BOB and was the dam of Phreelancer Silver Phern who went to Australia and was in turn the dam of champions and also had many champion grandchildren. In her last litter we kept Phreelancer Phall In Love. Her litter sister Phreelancer Silver Phelicia became the dam of Finnish Ch Phalling Snow of Phreelancer. However, from the same litter came Ch Phreelancer Phrosty Moon over Corydon, the all time breed record holder in Britain, also winning Best of Breed at Crufts in three consecutive years.

Nor Ch FREELANCER FLOWERSHOW
(Nor Ch Corydon Augustus Caesar - Nor Ch Topp-Form's Petit Fleur)
In 1993, Nor Ch Freelancer Flowershow ‘Maggie’ (born 22nd July 1996) came to England with me, with kind permission of her owners Bodil and Bob Wilson. She was mated to Ch Corydon Gold Spur and produced a one and only child in Phreelancer Enuph Zed. She later had another litter but, unfortunately, the bitch puppy I kept was not able to produce a litter.

|
PHREELANCER ENUPH ZED [Zed]
(Ch Corydon Gold Spur - Nor Ch Freelancer Flowershow)
‘Zed’, born 13th January 1994, was a wonderful character and had a very gentle nature - he was simply the apple of my eye and he knew it! I had planned to purchase a puppy bitch to suit him which would allow me to carry on in England with the original line I started with in Norway but it was not to be as Zed was tragically killed at the age of four.

PHREELANCER PHALL IN LOVE [Rosie]
'Rosie' was retained from a wonderful litter of blue merles and tricolours born 18th August 1996. She had one litter but more importantly she was the litter sister to Ch Phreelancer Phrosty Moon over Corydon - Breed Record Holder. Rosie went to one show as a puppy and was never campaigned as my own focus changed when I got married and had my son, Oliver. However, we are very proud of her famous brother and all the accolades he has received from the stalworts of the breed - people I read about in books when I was still at school!
Rosie passed away 10 days before her 13th birthday and we were without a Collie for a few months (which was a very strange sensation) until we by chance were introduced to

(Ch Brilyn Rum'N'Black - Corydon Silver Moon) |
 |
CORYDON LA CAPRITA OF PHREELANCER [Button]
(Ch Demelewis Dark Moon Driftin over Corydon - Corydon Rio Rita)
Born 27th December 2009, Button is much loved by us all - she has the most beautiful temperament and attracts a lot of attention from the general public. She has won a few Ch show firsts and was also 'Top Winning Puppy 2010' at East Anglian Collie Association's contest.
