This is the home of DALDORTH COLLIES. It all began in 1978 when we lived here in Scotland with our pet dog. My husband was working in the colliery at Dalmellington, Ayrshire when it closed down. We were transferred to a place near Newark called Marnham which was to be our home for the next 15 years and it was there that our life began with Rough Collies.

It was in 1979 that our much loved pet died. After a time we looked in the local paper and saw an advert for a litter of Rough Collie puppies. They were by two Jurassic Collies [Lordmead Laconic and Charlton Lass] so we went to see them and fell in love with a most handsome tri colour male who later became Majestic Prince of Daldorth.

We started to show him in local shows and had a lot of fun. Then one day he won a first and you've guessed it we were well and truly hooked.

We had decided to use the kennel name Daldorth which was the name of a large house on the estate near where we lived in Scotland.

Corydon Handsome Herald at Daldorth
[Ch Little Caesar at Corydon x Corydon Polyhanna]
Our first show dog came from the Corydon kennels. a sable dog known as Corydon Handsome Herald at Daldorth who was by Ch Little Caesar at Corydon and Corydon Polyhanna, who did us proud in and out of the show ring, winning firsta and was placed at most shows attended. We also met a lot of dog people who became our very good friends and still are to this day.
We decided it was time to buy our first bitch which we obtained from the Brimsan Kennels, who later became Brimsan Archangel of Daldorth. This little lady put our name on the map by winning many firsts and was placed at all shows attended. Sadly this era came to an end as we lost all three to old age, which resulted in us being out of the ring for many years. All of you who have had a collie, will know once you have had a rough collie you can never live without then.

So we moved back to Scotland in 1993 and started to look for a collie pup to show. We went back to the Brimsan kennels and bought a blue merle dog who was one and a half years old, Brimsan Oh B Joyful of Daldorth and his sister from a repeat mating Brimsan Special Angel at Daldorth [Jenacis Dark Reflection and Jurassic Blue Moon at Brimsan], who took us back into the show ring. Both are a joy to own and have done us proud in the ring, winning many firsts and placed at most shows attended in Scotland.

Last but not least our latest youngster whom we bought from Jenacis Collies, Jenacis Summer Skye at Daldorth [Emryks Look Again x Jenacis Tia Maria] .... this little lady has performed very well for us winning Best Puppy Bitch and Reserve Best Puppy in Show at the Ayrshire Collie Open Show and also winning Best Puppy in Breed and 1st Junior at the Land O Burns show. She has also been placed at general Open shows and Championship shows in the few shows attended and sadly at this point she decided to drop her coat. We should be back in the ring soon with this little lady and the rest of the gang............
