| TRIBURLE
began some 30 odd years ago, with a typical lassie. We took her to a
few shows, where she did well, obtaining a few BPIB awards. However,
we soon realised that she was not the championship show quality we were
looking for, and so began our quest !!
Our first litter contained TRIBURLE BLACK PANTHER (2 Reserve Ccs). He was my faithful follower and took us through our championship show initiation !! Unfortunately we were beset by problems, having several false starts, including distemper. We ultimately began our show line with Emryks Lucy Lockett at Triburle. Although no oil paining herself, she gave us Triburle Georgie Porgie (1 CC) and Triburle Polly Flinders, from whom we began our show stock.
Polly was a great
brood bitch, she produced my favourite bitch Triburle Molly Flinders,
winner of many BPIB awards and 4 Reserve Ccs. Molly produced Triburle
Molly Magpie (3 RCCs & winner of Ladypark Points Trophy) and Triburle
Mr. Nice Guy. Maggie was never to reproduce but loved the practice,
and Nicky was exported to Italy.
Folly produced Triburle Dark Angel JW, the first collie JW winner of the new millenium. Sadly Folly and Angel were put to sleep in May 2008. Problems with litters, seasons and matings continued, and so when given the opportunity to have SALSINA CELTIC ROSEBUD AT TRIBURLE JW, when she was around 18 months, we were more than grateful !! She gave us new inspiration, and has pride of place. Meg broke our run of 13 Reserve CC’s to become the first Triburle champion, and now has 6 CC’s and 3 RCC’s, along with 2 Green Stars and a BIS at the All Ireland Collie and Sheepdog Society.
Ch Salsina Celtic Rosebud at Triburle JW 6 CC's & 3RCC's [also shown at the head of the page] We are forever grateful to Carl and Jayne Llewellyn (Salsina) for letting us have Meg (well most of the time anyway). She has won BIS at Midland Collie Club twice, in 2006 and 2007, and was Runner Up at the British Collie Dog of the Year in 2006. Her CC’s were awarded by Barrie Makepeace, Anne Hollywood, Aileen Speding, Carole Smedley, Joan Sykes and Francis Kaye.

Touch of Soul for Triburle JW
Otis achieved our wildest dreams of winning Best in Show at the British Collie Club 2010, bringing home the coveted trophy. Then, in the space of a week surpassed all our hopes by achieving Best of Breed at Crufts 2010 & 2012...Our eternal thanks go to Bob McDowall [DCC], co Judge Duna Jones [BOB] and Vic Salt [BIS] at the British and to Anne Hollywood for the DCC, and her co judge Joyce Skillbeck for BOB. He also won a few more RCC at Club shows. We believe he is the only dog for forty years to have achieved this marvellous double. Otis children are now in the ring and in 2011 amassed enough points to take four of the top 6 placings for the Ladypark Trophy. Congratulations to Jo Hodges and Teddy for winning the trphy to add to his RCC and JW, Lynda Boyle with Freya and Frodo being runners up and also their JW's, and to Jayne Llewellyn and Grace for coming 6th. Grace [Salsina Simply Graceful] was also Rough Collie Junior of the Year 2012, the runner up being our own Triburle Celtic Touch [Scott]. Scott also won a RCC, a Pastoral Group puppy and RBIS at Working and Pastoral Breeds of Wales.
Scott missed his JW by two open show points, despite having 36 points from Championship shows. We wish the new crop of babies well in the ring, as they embark on their show careers. ************************************************************************************************************ Whilst on a quest to find a tricolour bitch puppy, I came across an advert for a tricolour dog in France. Whilst researching his pedigree, in the hope of obtaining a bitch, I was very taken with the quality of puppies from the French male Velour Noir du Clos de Montamer (Rocco). Further enquiries led us to obtain my Choco - so different in personality to the gentle and quiet Otis. Choc is the clown of the house, full of vitality with a character that will always raise a smile. CHOCO POPS DU DOMAINE DES EMERAUDES AT TRIBURLE JW (Imp Fra.) has been here since the end of February 2008, and quickly amassed enough points for his Junior Warrant in five months, travelling literally from one end of the country to the other, with Otis - proving the wonderful temperaments of these two dogs. Never a cross word between them. I am eternally grateful to Cyril Duchazaubeneix, (Choco’s breeder) and Virginie Karcs (Owner of Rocco) for their parts in Choco joining us. Choco is the proud father of little JACK, and we wish Aileen and Joe all the best with the little Choco button. (Remember quality not quantity!!) Choco remains his playful self, despite us almost losing him to peritonitis in 2010. He was lightly shown after this, but still did us well at Championship shows. He is siring some lovely puppies, and we wish the following the best of luck with their Chocolicious pups: Jo Hodges - Triburle Choc au Lait at Jopium, Triburle Choccamocca at Lingwell for Brenda Cooney & Jordon Taylor, Avis Annable and Triburle Chocochino at Avisette, Nikki Fairclough and Triburle Truffle at Wallastowns. All are to be shown along with our own Ziggy, Triburle Shooting Star. [shown below]
We also wish Stephen Clark and Val Brown good luck with their Choco sired pups. We now have two blue bitches, namely Sophie - Jopium Snowflake at Triburle [Lovcul Trophy Magic/Eximer Blue Satin for Jopium] and a Choco daughter Derbypark Tallulah Blue for Triburle - Lola. Sophie has produced a fabulous litter and we proud that four of those pups are in show homes. We are looking for a suitable partner for Lola and she will be mated towards the end of 2012.

A special mention must also be given to our sheltie Crystal, my constant companion for 8 years. Her adventures would fill a book, she is so resilient to whatever besets her. Unfortunately following a bout of Kennel Cough, it was discovered that she has nasal cancer. We are fully appreciating her remaining time with us, and she is still the boss of the house, keeping Ice and Choco firmly in their places. The house won’t be the same without her, and it is a time we are dreading. I am still on my quest for a blue and/or a tricolour bitch, but seem to return home with males, so this will have to go on the back burner for a while!! The past few years
have been the most enjoyable we have had in the world of Rough Collies,
and I would like to thank Jayne, Jo and Duna for their friendship,
loyalty, support and help during this time. We have had some laughs,
some tears but above all some unforgettable times !
Meg eventually aged 7 whelped two puppies by C-Section. We naturally had to keep both of these special dogs so Rosie and Scott have remained at Triburle. Rosie was only shown once [and didn't enjoy it], but she has whelped an exciting litter to Prince of Sunlight Zorion and we are currently undecided which to keep. Triburle Tender Touch JW [Otis/Jashika Love N Kiss at Triburle], was retained from this mating along with her brother T. Tamahay [Indy]. Indy won well as a baby, achieving BPIB and RCC. However, as we now have too many males he has been placed in a pet home. Lucy has done extremely well, winning her JW, and following a season has continued her winning ways. Also in this litter was the mischievous Sox -Triburle Touch of Love for Corisian, owned by Pat and Emma Booker, who has been consistently well placed at shows, returning to the ring in 2012 to win her class at Midland Collie Club. The two lovely ladies will continue to be campaigned in 2012.
Triburle Touch of Silk, is the older half-sister being sired by Otis out of Triburle Calendar Girl. Lacey will return to the ring following her litter to Misty Shadows Dallinaire over Triburle [Imp. Serb.] This flashy youngster was only lightly shown, but still did her-self proud.
We confidently offer our dogs at stud, and Scott will join the stud team in 2012. Our puppies are reared in the home, and we are not adverse to letting the best go to show homes. We sometimes have older stock available, in order to keep numbers manageable. On the judging front, I award Challenge Certificates in Rough Collies, and enjoy Judging Shelties, Borders and the Pastoral Breeds. I am delighted to have the honour of judging Rough Collie bitches at Crufts in 2013. Visit our web site for informal photos of our dogs and puppies bred by us.. To
