Welcome to .......................................

We began to show Rough Collies in Adelaide, South Australia under the affix Glenberry in 1986 and have never looked back.  After a few fits and starts we bought our first puppy of notable success from a small collie kennel in Victoria named Lochyle Kennels.  Shelley Bateup, who was fairly selective of people she sold show dogs to, had just bred a litter from which she wanted to keep a dog puppy to show.  She entrusted us with her pick of litter bitch Kylie, Ch Lochyle Eleanor Rigby, who was a grand daughter of Shaun of Sandiacre.  Kylie was, like her grandfather, as large as life and was a real showgirl and a joy to show.   She loved the ring and gained her title with ease.  She also gave us many in group and other in show awards, including Best In Group on two occasions.  We then went back to Shelly for our next show protégé and bought a dog puppy who was a son of Ch Corydon Rising Star, named Ch Lochyle Hot Toddy (Chip).  Chip was always in the cards but like quite a few males was quite stubborn and took a while to get his act together and take to the show ring.  However, Chip always excelled under UK judges because of his lovely head and expression.  One of our greatest days with Chip was winning the Australian bred class and going on to win Australian bred in show at the Victorian National under Mrs Sandra Wigglesworth, there were 35 in the class, a very big class for Australia.  Chip also managed to win many in Group and in show awards.  Another special day for us was when we did the double with both Kylie and Chip being awarded the Challenge and with Kylie subsequently going best of Breed and runner-up in Group.  Another occasion we well remember was when our puppy bitch Izus Haztobesnazzy won the puppy class and Best Puppy in Show under Audrey Chatfield when she judged the Adelaide Championship Show.

Chip went on to sire a champion, our first homebred Australian champion, Ch Glenberry Gambling Rose.

Our second homebred champion was Ch Glenberry Irish Coffee who was from the first litter born in Australia sired by import Lowerpark Late Night Extra at Joshren (a son of Irish Ch Lasheen Simply Red at Lynway).  She went on to win many in group and in show awards and also best in show at the Australian National show.

In 1996 we came to England and after a few years we bought our first show dog of note.  She is owned in partnership with Alison Grainger, Ch Samhaven Mystic Charm at Tremaro (Midge) her sire is Ch Tour de France des Marécages du Prince to Samhaven and her dam was Ch Samhaven Forgotten Charm.  Midge received her first Reserve Challenge one day from her first birthday.   Following a drop of her puppy coat grew only a very sparse junior coat and as a result we did not show her often.  We mated her on her next season to Ch Sandiacre Schumaker in the hope of maturing her and hopefully growing a better coat.

CH Samhaven Mystic Charm at Tremaro 3CC’s 5RCC’s

Midge came back into coat when the puppies were a year old.  She is a brilliant moving bitch who loves the show ring.   We then campaigned her and she attained her title 15 months later having received 3 challenges all with Best of Breed and five reserve challenges.   Her 1st CC was under Steve Hall at Leeds July 2009, the other two were under breed specialists, Mrs Eleanor Kitchen at Working and Pastoral Breeds April 2010, and her third CC was won under Mr Rob McDowall in July 2010 at West of England Championship Show, where she was Reserve Best in Show.  Midge now rules the roost at home and keeps everyone in order

Mystic Touch of Tremaro JW 1RCC

From the mating of Ch Sandiacre Schumaker and Ch Samhaven Mystic Charm at Tremaro we kept a dog, Tom, Mystic Touch of Tremaro JW. who had a brilliant puppy career attaining his junior warrant at just twelve months.  During his Puppy career Tom achieved many Best Puppy of Breed at both breed Championship and Open Shows.  He also achieved many Best Puppy of Breed’s at various General open shows.  Tom also achieved a Group 1 Puppy at East Kent Canine Society and this was followed by Group 1 at Bridgewater & District Canine Society.  Tom has continued to be well placed at both Breed and General Championship and Open shows.  He achieved Graduate Dog at Crufts in 2010 followed later in the year with his first RCC at Paignton Championship Show.

Rahlissa Snow Maiden for Tremaro 1CC

From the mating of Ch Sandiacre Schumaker and Ch Samhaven Mystic Charm at Tremaro a bitch called Kelly, Fancy that from Tremaro went to live with Val Tame and on her second season was mated to Ch Samhaven Detox.  This mating produced a litter of three in which Rahlissa Snow Maiden for Tremaro, Holly, was born.   Holly came to live with us at six months and we are now really enjoying showing her.  She had a successful puppy career culminating in BOB at Southern Counties Championship and missed out on her Junior Warrant by only 7 points.   Because she had a sparse puppy and junior coat we feared she might follow her grandmother with lack of coat, during her younger years, so we had to toss up whether we should continue to show her to try to achieve her junior warrant or to mate her.  The decision was to mate her and this was to Ch Carriswillow Riot at Samhaven producing our new hopefuls Tremaro Teddy Bear and Tremaro Tapestry.   Holly came back into the show ring when her puppies were eight months old and has continued to do us proud in the show ring.  She has been well placed at most shows attended and also achieved Runner-up Best in Show at the British Collie Club Open Show this summer , and this was topped off just as she began blowing her coat with her first CC & BOB at the 2012 Paignton Championship Show under well-known and respected judge Mr Derek Smith.

Tremaro Tapestry

Holly, Rahlissa Snow Maiden for Tremaro was mated to Ch Carriswillow Riot at Samhaven and we kept a male and a female from this litter of 5, the other three all went to show homes.

Tremaro Tapestry (Tilly) born 11.8.2011 is a natural showgirl and in the six months she has been shown has been very well placed at both Championship and Open shows.  This includes Reserve Best Puppy in show at British Championship Show, her first Championship Show and at Smooth Collie Open Show and at British Open Show.

Tremaro Teddy Bear

Tremaro Teddy Bear (Teddy) born 11.8.2011 has been shown a little less than Tilly but at the shows he has attended he has also been well placed at Championship and Open Shows.  But as is the case with most males he needs time to mature and grow but he moves and shows well

Tremaro Gin Fizz

Shortly before this Tom sired a litter from Amalie Lynmead Honeysuckle at Tremaro from which we retained Tremaro Mystic Dream and Tremaro Gin Fizz (Fizz) born 27.8.2011 has also started her show career well with several best puppy bitch wins.  At her first show she was 1st in a large class of puppies and was awarded Group 4 under Mr Geoff Duffield and has been placed at all shows attended.

In terms of our show history we have a long way to go by UK show standards but we have a wealth of past show experience and plenty of enthusiasm.  We also have some young ones to be going on with and will enjoy loving and showing our dogs in the future.
