We
are a small select kennel in Rosslare.
Located in the sunny south-east corner of Southern Ireland. I moved
from England in 1996.I had two dreams when I was young, one to have
a "Lassie" dog and one was to live by the sea........Now my
two dreams have come true!
My
dream for a Rough Collie was after watchin a "lassie" film
on the television when I was a child. My dream finally came true in
1990.
I
got my first Rough Collie from the Saheltra Kennels, a lovely sable
and white bitch. Her name was Maggie, Saheltra Starry Eyed. I took her
to a few Open shows but she did not like them, so I did not take her
to anymore. She just loved to lie about the house.

I
then got myself another Rough Collie called Nancy, Fletchmore Moon Princess
and she was by Ch Emryks Runnaway. She was a beautiful sable 7 white
bitch and I had lots of fun with Nancy at the Open Shows and she was
placed at them all. The show that I will always remember was the British
Collie Christmas Open Show in 1994 where Nancy won her Novice Bitch
class and then went on to win Best Bitch and RBOB. As a novice myself
I was over the moon.

In
the meantime I got myself a 10 month old tri puppy bitch. Magic, Saheltra
Shez Magic, she was by Gwendale Triple Trouble at Steelhurst and Saheltra
Satin Glory. She was a beauty and kept the others on their toes.

A
few years later Maggie was "introduced" to Saheltra Satin
Lover. she had four beautiful sable and white puppies one of which
went to the Saheltra Kennels. Maisey, Satin Love at Saheltra did
really well in the show ring for them winning numerous 1st and a
CC.
In
1997 I moved to Ireland and was going to live in private accommodation
so I could only take one of my dogs with me. I found good homes
for Nancy and Maggie and I took Magic with me.
In
2005 I went to Crufts and I got in touch with the Saheltra Kennels
to see if they had a show quality puppy and they had, so I went
to have a look and she was a beauty. A sable and white bitch who
was 9 months old. I came back ti Ireland very excited.
Pearls,
Saheltra Satin Pearl, had her first show at 10 months old, the Cork
All Breeds Ch Show in April 05. She won her puppy bitch class and
also Reserve Green Star Bitch. She was also pulled out in the last
8 in Puppy Stakes. To date Pearl has accumulated 10 x 1st, 1 x 2nd,
1 x 3rd, 3 x 4th and at the Munster Circuit 05 Pearl won all her
classes. The most memorable show to date with Pearl was the Sharpei
All Breed Open Show, where she won Best Puppy in Breed, BOB, Group
1 Pastoral Puppy and Pastoral Group 2. At her first show in the
UK she won her puppy class which qualified her for Crufts '06.
