Welcome to Rendalea Rough Collies.

My name is Sherri and it was with my husband Richard and his daughter Caroline that we decided to buy a Rough Collie in 2003. We approached Sue Malpas at Lanlin Rough Collies and eventually purchased a sable and white bitch "Lexie", Lanlin Special Affair.

At the time we lived in Ogmore-by-Sea in South Wales and all enjoyed the seaside location, including Lexie. She developed into a delightful puppy but at 6 months of age we had to let her go back to Sue due to our necessity to move to a property that did not permit pets. Although it was a sad time we focus on the positives. Sue found a new home for Lexie in Belgium with Terryn Yves and we are immensely proud of their achievements as Lexie is now a Belgium Champion.

We began visiting a number of shows and spent time learning about the breed. We remain grateful to all those that have shared their experiences through books, websites and DVD productions.

In May 2005 we moved to Carmarthenshire, having purchased a property with a suitably sized garden. In August we met Val Geddes at the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show 2005 at Builth Wells. Later on we visited Val and John at their home in Chirk, where we met "Maikki" [Roxie's Dam] and "Shady" Ingledene Late Night Love, shortly after her success at Crufts. It was a memorable and enjoyable visit.

On the 10th September we collected Roxie "Ingledene She's Got it for Rendalea". It was especially exciting for Caroline who was 12 years old at the time. Whilst there we had the pleasure of meeting Michaela Rukopf the breeder of Tom, Roxie's Sire.

Roxie has grown into a classy adult and attracts a lot of attention wherever she goes. She is a loving, confident, loyal and intelligent collie and knows what she wants and how to get it!

We had also had the pleasure of visiting Anne Hollywood at her home in Devon. It was an idyllic summer's day when we had the opportunity to meet the complete Amalie team. A day we shall never forget. On the 23rd October Caroline accompanied us again when we collected "Layla", Amalie Love Me Tender for Rendalea.

Roxie and Layla were bought as puppies within six weeks of one another and have been reared together. This has worked well in terms of their companionship and saving on duplicated efforts, much as described by Margaret Osborne in her book "Collies" [Reprint 1985].

Our Rendalea affix was obtained in November 2005. As all combinations of our initials failed, we based it on a family name from the past "Rendalee" amending the ending to "lea" to sound more countrified.

In January 2008 while visiting Val & John we saw pups from Shady's last litter [Ch Ingledene Late Night Love] after her mating with Patrick Henry [Am Ch Twin Acres Patrick Henry]. We had asked Val in the past for one of Shady's pups, but this time she said yes!

I am originally from Dallas, Texas so the chance to have a UK/USA mating was perfect and our Tess [Ingledene Late Nite Dancer] is just that!

'Tess' is something special and impresses wherever she goes. We were very excited in May 2010 when she had her first gorgeous litter by Marco, Ch Ingledene All That Matters JW.

We are excited about the future at Rendalea Rough Collies and are proud to be involved with this elegant, intelligent and loving breed.....
