Welcome to Paridel Rough Collies........

Paridel Rough Collies was established in 1985 by my parents Ian and Elizabeth Purdie.

My parents bought their first Rough Collies shortly after they married in 1968. Tara and Penny were much loved family pets.

THE PAST..

After Tara died my mum and dad swore we would never have another dog. Our next door neighbours at the time were Jack and Rena Gillespie [Jenbach] and it was through seeing their collies daily

my parents decided that we would get another collie. They went to the Starlenga kennel of Garry and Margo Walker.

Katie, Starlenga Barbara Ann joined us in 1983 and it was with her we ventured into the world of showing.

A year later Kelly, Starlenga Ebony Eyes, joined us. She had a successful show career winning many Best of Breeds and gaining her Stud Book Number.

From our first litter my parents kept Tess, Paridel Rare Moments and I kept Toby, Paridel Punchinello.

Sadly Toby died at a very young age but managed to qualify for Crufts in his very short life.

Tess had an outstanding show career, missing her Junior Warrant by one point but gaining her Stud Book Number,

many Best of Breeds and winning Best in Show at the Ayrshire Collie Club Open Show.

THE PRESENT..

After a long break from showing, taking time out to study and establish a career and get married, I was bitten again after visiting the Ayrshire Collie Club in 2001.

A year later we were lucky to get Amy, Birkmyre Gold Blend from Rob and Naomi McDowall.

Amy is now 11 years old and rules the roost. She has the most amazing laid back nature and is completely spoiled. As I was unable to to show Amy as a result of ongoing problems caused by a

thorn, we went back to Rob and Naomi for a puppy and came home with Zoe, Birkmyre Love Affair at Paridel.

We had a wonderful time with Zoe. She won many Best of Breeds and also gained her Stud Book Number.

Most of all she had a wonderful nature, was very loving and we were devastated when illness took her far too early from us.

Rosie, Birkmyre Rose Gold at Paridel, joined us after we lost our precious Zoe. Rosie has made a great start in the show ring, qualifying for Crufts at her very first show.

She has been consistently placed at both Open and Championship Shows.

We are absolutely delighted with her achievements so far.  She is a joy to own, full of charisma and loves to show off in the ring.

We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to all the judges who have thought so highly of Diva and to our friends for their continued support.

Diva has exceeded all our expectations in her first year of showing and we look forward to campaigning her again when she grows her new coat.
