OWNED BY OTHERS......

In this section we would like to introduce you to Collies that are bread by ourselves but in the ownership of others. We cant keep everything so we think its nice that others can have some fun with a Ladnar Collie. If you would like to be included in this section and share your successes then please email me with a photo and a list of your achievements.
We would like to tell you a little bit about Tanni who is owned by our very good friend Pat Thompson.
Ladnar Diamonds ‘R’ Forever at Expressebury Nov. Ex.
Sire CH Brooklynson De Carvalho Dam Ladnar Red Rowena,
DOB 09.11.05.
Pat writes:

Competing against mainly Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs in Obedience Competitions in the UK, Tanni has turned many heads not only for her good looks but for her working ability.

At her very first show in 2007 she was placed 2nd in the Novice class and was regularly placed throughout the year winning her first Novice at Thames DTC in September. In 2008 at just over two years old she won her second Novice Competition against an entry of 59 bitches to qualify her for her ‘Novice Excellent’ title and progress into Obedience Test ‘A’ where she gained a 5th place at her first attempt.

Settling into the class, where no commands are permitted, Tanni continued to be regularly placed in the top 6 and in August won her first Test ‘A’ against an entry of 51 bitches at Lichfield DTC Open show and at the end of the year was also placed 6th in Test ‘B’ at Plymouth DTC show.

Alongside her Obedience career Tanni has been very lightly shown and in August she was Best of Breed at St. Mellons Agricultural Open Show. On her birthday in November 2008 she took a day long Character Assessment Test, organized by the Rough and Smooth Collie Training Association and was given top honours, being graded as ‘Excellent’.

Tanni is a joy to live with but also has an amazing desire to work and please, demonstrating how this glamorous breed can still call upon it’s working origins, given the chance.
Many Thanks to Pat for taking such good care of Tanni and may your success continue.xx

So far in 2009 Tanni has been regularly placed at open and championship shows in TEST 'A', On the 12th July Tanni won her class after a run off for first place.

This gave her the Title Obedience Test 'A' Excellent. On the 9th August Tanni once again had a run off for first place but unfourntaly came 2nd on this occasion.!

Ladnar Memorabilla (Poppy)
DOB 21/11/2008.
[Sire Aaronwell Antique Gold at Brilyn, Dam Ladnar Red Rebekka
( CH Sandiacre say it with music daughter]

Michelle introduced herself to Dave & myself at Blackpool Championship show in 2005 after falling head over heels in love with the very handsome Jack (L/Bitter Sweet 2CC) After several phone conversations and meeting up at shows we invited Michelle and her family over for the day to meet the Ladnar Collies. Well as you can guess Michelle fell in love with every one of them so much so I had to check the boot of the car before they left!!! In April 2008 Michelle acquired a puppy from us by the name of Ladnar Kitty Foyle a daughter of Ladnar Special Bond x Ladnar Ginger Rogers JW. Daisy has had a moderate amount of success in the show ring but it is with Michelle's new puppy Ladnar Memorabilla that she is getting quite a name for herself. Poppy has so far been placed at every Championship show and Open show attended her wins include BPB Blackpool CH show, 3rd MPB NW&PB Ch show, her wins at open shows include 3xBPIB, 2x BOB, PG1, PG2 and winning the AV Cherryacre puppy stakes at Britannia leek.
We would like to wish Michelle continued success with Daisy & Poppy but most of all for having faith in a Ladnar Collie.xxx
Poppy’s fan club continues to thrive with another nice win at EACA October Open show when she won BPB, judge Mary Bathurst ( Auldlyn ).

Ladnar Lock 'N Load

DOB 09/11/05.
Sire CH Brooklynson De Carvalho. Dam Ladnar Red Rowena.

Lorraine writes, Brook qualified for Crufts at his 1st show at the tender age of just 6 months he also went onto win BPD at SKC
in August 06 and qualified at every Championship show attended.

At the open shows Brook had his fair share of BPIB wins along with puppy group placing and passed his KC good citizen bronze at Leeds Champ show July 06 at just 8 months of age.
As an adult Brook has qualified at all his Championship show’s attended.
Kirsten took part in the KC children’s handling competition with Brook and was placed 2nd at Dumfries CS.
Brook is a much loved family pet not a lover of the show ring so I have now decided to take up agility which he loves.

We had a real Lassie moment last May when the kids were sinking in the quick sand. Brook alerted to their screams, ran to them returning back to me on the bank, looking all agitated -back to the kids and back to me for me to follow him. He kept looking back to make sure I was following. The kids were in danger they were stuck so solid that one of their wellingtons was broken trying to pull them out. Brook just loves the kids and knew they were real screams for help! Ahhhh
Brook is owned and loved to bits by Lorraine Quince and family

Ladnar Primrose Path to Bocasa (Amber)
DOB: 17.04.08
Sire: Ladnar Special Bond Dam: Ladnar Ginger Rogers JW.
Amber is owned, showed and totally loved to bits by Deborah & Richard Cross ( Bocasa Rough Collies)
Debbie writes.

We have owned rough collies for over 30 years but only ventured into the show ring about 10 years ago. We have both been committee members of London & Provincial Collie Club, and Romford DCS. Richard is still an active member of L&P.
After waiting for 2 years for an addition to our collie family from Sue and Dave Randall, we finally brought Amber home. She is a very smart, intelligent collie and a pleasure to have around.
Amber has qualified for Crufts every year so far. The first time was at her very first champ show at the tender age of just 6 months at Midland Counties and subsequently the following 2 years at London Collie. She has gained BPIB awards at various open shows and also by the age of 2 years, has gained many BOB, RBOB, 2xGrp3 and shortlisted for BIS at an open show not judged on the group system. We look forward to enjoying many more years showing Amber at both open and champ show level.

Owned by Audrey Sinclair.

I have always had a dog in the family but purchased my first Rough Collie in 1975 a pet dog of Jeffsfire/Naragansette  breeding named Shep.  In 1978 I bought a Blue bitch from the Cinlocks kennel who started me off in the show ring. As we lived up the Highlands of Caithness not far from John O Groats, going to shows was fairly limited.

In 1991 my husband and I bought a Great Dane puppy from the late Betty Bacon, Samani Sirius or Sakson as he was known was shown very successfully at open and Championship shows. We continued with the Danes showing several others up to 2006 making up an Irish Champion.

We then decided that we would go back to Rough Collies.  So after a lot of researching in 2006 we bought our first puppy a lovely Blue merle by the name of Ladnar Mayd Smart from Sue & Dave, he was followed in 2008 by our Tri boy Ladnar Kings Country who is litter brother to CH Ladnar
Kingfisher JW.  Arran and Lewis have been successful in the show ring at the shows I have attended with them and to our greatest pleasure Arran achieved his KCSBN in 2010. These two lovely boys have given us so much pleasure and are a joy to live with.

Audrey and Alfie's trip to Ireland to do the Irish circuit certainly paid off with Lewis picking up 3 Green Stars along the way. His first GS was won at The RCCI Breed Championship Show Judge Carole Smedley, his 2nd at Colonmel All Breeds Judge Mr A Strpinsk and his 3rd at Killarney All Breeds Judge Mrs C Mulcahy. Lewis is the first ever Ladnar collie to venture over shores and win these major awards. Many thanks to all the judges concerned but most of all to Audrey and Alfie for campaigning and taking such good care of Lewis.
