Having grown up with a mixed breed, then a small terrier I first began to get interested in the Rough Collie in my early 20's. I, like many others, did not have a clue as to where to go so purchased SEPTEMBER RAIN and [YES SHE WAS CALLED LASSIE] from a local pet shop. She was probably the most dreadful collie type but to me she was the best and would win Crufts, should I decide to take her.

I then wanted a second dog and after a bit more research found myself talking to Lorraine and Dave Bellanger of Jurassic Collies. They told me about the show world and so my second bitch JURASSIC BECKY [Cindy] arrived.

Becky had a small amount of success locally but I did decide that breeding my own would be the best option and after studying "form" I mated her to JURASSIC FLASH LIGHT. The progeny from this gave me my first Aqualita litter and I showed a sable dog "Sonny" AQUALITA SONNY JIM OF JACKSDALE.

Moving on I decided to take a blue bitch on breeding terms which was kindly offered to me by Lorraine and Dave and so JURASSIC MISTI MORNING arrived. She was mated to Abbestone Anchor Man as part of the breeding terms and then subsequently mated to Jurassic Flash Light, so I had my second Aqualita litter which produced AQUALITA BLUE PREMONITION. In those days exhibitors had to gain a first place at a Championship show to qualify for Crufts and she did. A third litter produced AQUALITA MISCHIEVOUS who was Astrellita Able Seaman's daughter, a tri bitch that lived up to her name.

I then acquired a tri bitch who was really the foundation of my dogs today. Jurassic Velvet Ribbon was mated to Corydon Star Macadam who produced AQUALITA MEGS GOLD. Meg's Gold is behind all that I have now.

Typical Aqualita puppies

Aqualita Wychetta at 4 weeks and 1 year of age.

I continue to have a passion for the breed and am campaigning Sophie and Baba [Aqualita Gold Reflection]. Gold reflection is the mother of Wychetta so will be missing for a while as she is out of coat. I am very excited about Babs' litter and look forward to showing Witch [Aqualita Wychetta] in 2006. Enquiries are always welcome and I encourage visitors to come and see the dogs before they decide to have on. Coats need regular attention, and the dogs good exercise, and a kind home. So please note all new owners will be vetted.
