I had always wanted a Lassie collie from the age of about ten and my mum never had the money to buy me one. I inherited a small cross collies puppy at the age of 12 from a neighbour who told me to take her for a walk to the park and drown her in the lake. I was so upset I took her home and begged my mum to let me keep her. When
I got married in 1971, I took her with me and she lived to a ripe
old age of 21 years. When she was laid to rest in 1977 I My husband decided he wanted to try training a dog himself and went to see a litter of Rough Collies and bought one. I was devastated, little knowing he had bought two bitches, one for him and the other for me as an anniversary present. That was it and I was hooked but try doing show standard obedience with a Rough..it was very hard so we tried our hand at showing then in breed for a bit of fun. |
| That is when I first saw a beautiful blue merle dog called Blue Apache of Norrisville and I wanted one. Judy and Doug Norris who owned him took me to see a litter at Peter & Peggy Bailey's [Beechwyre] and I bought a blue bitch and in the car coming home she was christened Gypsy [Beechwyre Blue Ballerina of Aldreen]. That was the start of my blue line in 1981. |

I mated her to Blue Apache of Norrisville 2 CC's and kept a Tri dog, Aldreen Midnight Phantom [Smudge]. |

My friend Pauline had one of the blue bitches, Aldreen Blue Sequin from the same litter by Apache. We mated her to a son of CH. Cathanbrae Polar Moon at Pelido. she had one puppy Aldreen Mississippi Blue's [Missey] |

I mated her back to her uncle A. Midnight Phantom and kept a blue dog Aldreen Blue Kestral. He gained a Junior Warrant by 11 months also 1 Res. CC and 3 Green Stars in Ireland. |
| I decided to mate Gypsy again to Ch. Jankeith
Gideon of Mybern. I kept Aldreen Blue Avail [Dusty]. She lived to 15 and half years old. The oldest I have got a Rough Collie to. |

| I exported a blue bitch from the same litter to Sweden, Aldreen Silver Dreamer. Much to my delight she gained 3 CC's and 7 RCC's. Unfortunately they cannot gain the title of champion unless they work as well. The 3rd CC was given to her by Brian Hawkins [Brilyn]. By this time A. Blue Sequin was mated again to Ch Karava Kornishman. I kept a blue bitch, A. Silver Slipper and sold Aldreen Blue Dream to Denise Geach [Richdene]. I mated Slipper to Ch Troydon Pebbalmyll at Mybern and kept A. Blue Bairdie. What a lovely puppy she was and I did a lot of winning with her as a puppy. Much to my disappointment she died of Leukaemia at 16 months old. |
I
was devastated at the time and Denise Geach phoned to tell me she had
mated Aldreen Blue Dream [litter sister to Bairdie's mother] to Ch Kourika
Mantika at Troydon. So I went down there like a shot when they were
born and bought a blue bitch from the litter. Richdene Blue Opal of Aldreen 1RCC, 5 green Stars & 3 Res Green Star in Ireland. Not shown as much as I would have like to as my husband was quite ill with Lupas and had brain cell stroke in 1991 brought on by the Lupas. |

I did mate Opal to Ch Troydon Tonni Black and retained Aldreen Triple Print and Aldreen Peggy Sue, both tricolours and both gained their Stud Book Numbers. I laid Peggy to rest last year at aged 14 [2008] and Print was laid to rest in 2007 aged 13 and a half. |

| In 1996 at the age of 52 my husband Alan passed away and I did start to drop away from the show scene, only going occasionally. I had other things to think about. | |

I then kept a blue bitch from 'Prints' daughter Aldreen Night Shade [Now 13 years old], to Ch Penpriory Playboy of Karava, Aldreen Glam 'n Gliz [Tasha now 11 years old]. I had some fun with her, mainly round the Open shows. She was unbeaten as a puppy in the breed gaining 6 Best Puppy in Show [All Breeds], 5 BP in Group,1 BIS,1 Res BIS also 2 Green Star Bitch in Ireland and all by 1o months old. At the age of 11 months I took her to her first Championship show where she got 2nd in Puppy Bitch in a class of 28 puppies, so she qualified for Crufts without going through the back door by getting a BIS at an open show. |

I decided to mate Peggy Sue for one last time and twisted Viv Anderton's [Karava] arm to let me use Ch Karava Kontention. She would not let anyone use the dogs until they were made up to champions incase they went off showing. I was glad she agreed. I kept Aldreen Forget Me Not [Jodie]. I only showed her as a puppy and got very disallusioned with the whole thing and packed in showing Rough Collies. |

What a super boy Freddie is. Great temperament. I have not shown for 6 years so it was like starting again from the beginning. Freddie did really well gaining 10 Best Puppy in Breed at Open Shows, 5 with Best of Breed plus one Reserve BOB, Freddie gained his last point for his Junior Warrant at the Crufts 2012 - 2nd Mid Limit Dog

Libby has been overshadowed by her brother but still got some of the limelight. She did beat him once for Best Puppy in Breed at Ruthin Open Show. The few Championship shows she did attend.. |

Not forgetting Meg now she has grown up. She is not the best of show girls but did manage She looks lovely at home showing off. Put her in the ring and she is a different dog |
I bought a Bearded Collie for a change and really enjoyed showing her. I qualified her for Crufts at her first Championship show at 6 months old in a big class at Blackpool. She is now 9 years old. I mated her but we never kept anything and then decided to mate her at seven for the last time and kept a slate bitch. Aldreen Back Chat and she did the same as her mom and qualified for Crufts at her first Ch Show at 6 months. |

I mated Aldreen Forget Me Not to Jasand Jolson of Birkmyre. She only had 3 puppies and I never kept any. Had too many oldies then which have sinced passed away. Sue Peers shows Aldreen the Jazz Singer and doing very well considering the few shows he has attended. 3rd LD Lancs & Cheshire 2009, and 3rd LD Collie Association 2009. She also owns A. Over The Rainbow who was on breeding terms. |

She was mated to Wicani Formula One again only 3 pups. So the line goes on with Aldreen Now I'm Here [photo below]. Sue Peers is showing Aldreen the Great Pretender [tri dog] from this litter.

to mention Aldreen Forever Amber my only sable. Laid to rest before
her time after a dog jumped on her back in the field and damaged her
spine so badly she had to be laid to rest. Litter sister to A. Night
