Our
very first Rough Collie was a rescue dog in 1969, and just after perseverance
in getting him over his problems we were persuaded to show him at
a local show, so off we went with Dene to the Caernarfon Limited Show
where we gained a reserve place. This is when we were bitten by the
showing big and when our love for the Rough Collie came to life over
35 years ago. Prior to 1969 we had always had Border Collies [sheepdogs
in those days] as pets.We then decided to obtain a Kennel name which
was derived from the first three dogs we had, Glen a tri colour dog,
Bow our first bitch, and of course Dene the very first Rough Collie
that we had.The tri colour that we had, was a son of Royal Ace of
Rokeby and so we decided after showing him round the local shows that
we would take a plunge into the big pool of Championship shows, which
he did quite well for us.It was one of these Championship Shows that
we saw Sandra Wigglesworth showing one of her bitches, and we decided
there and then that this was the kennel we wanted a bitch from. We
waited a year for Sandiacre Saucy Bow of Glenbowdene, and she was
well worth the wait, as all our lines go back to her in one way or
another.........

Glenanior
Gold Dream from Glenbowdene
[Pelido
Forgotten Dreams x Glenbowdene Gold Desire at Glenanior]
Dreams
by now is a great grandmother and she has passed her beautiful
head and conformation through to her children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren. When we showed her she was always well placed
in numerically strong classes.
We would like to thank Mr & Mrs Griffiths for taking our advice
and taking her mother to Pelido Forgotten Dreams, because the
results speak for themselves.

Glenbowdene
Spun Gold at Rixown
[Clairone
Lonely Dreamer with Pelido x Glenanior Gold Dream from Glenbowdene]
Glenda
came back into our kennel in February 2004 from Mr & Mrs Oliver
of the Rixown Kennels, she has now settled in well with the rest of
our dogs, but it has been a bit difficult in getting her condition
back after the upset of the move but we are hoping to get her into
the showring sometime this year.

Rixown
Ribbons and Bows with Glenbowdene.
[Ch Sandiacre Schumaker x Glenbowdene Spun Gold at Rixown]
Abbie
has a fantastic character and temperament. She was out of the
ring for maternal duties at the beginning of 2005, and unfortunately
due to other commitments we were only able to show her lightly
in 2005 but the shows we were able to attend she was well placed
and including being placed 2nd in Limit Bitch at the Welsh Kennel
Club. Just after this show she decided it was time to change her
wardrobe and she lost all her coat, but hopefully now she is coming
back into a good coat we will be showing her this year.
WE WISH TO INTRODUCE OUR LATEST EDITIONS TO OUR KENNEL

decided to get rid of his clothes and is only now starting to come
back. We will be campaigning him quite extensively this year

Samhaven
Scarlet Lace for Glenbowdene
(Ch. Samhaven Toast Marster ex Samhaven Scarlet Charm)
Lacey
who is now 15 months old was well placed as a young puppy gaining
Best Puppy in Breed at National Working and Pastoral Breed Championship
